You Don’t Have To Be Rich

So here is the good news.  Planned giving is not just for the wealthy.  It creates an opportunity for all of us to give, when otherwise it would not be possible.  In these challenging times, it’s great to know we can give according to our values without further stretching our incomes.  NO matter what our age or situation, we can plan for the best use of long-term assets for our loved ones, our church and other charities.

What does planned giving have to do with worship and the real God?  A lot!  On April 19, at our Endowment Sunday, we will make the connection.  Pastor Bill Beck, who is chairman of the Endowment Committee at First UMC in Modesto, will be preaching.  There will be a tri-tip luncheon after the service.  It will be followed by a mini-seminar from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 in the Fireside Room.

Come and hear speakers Susan Peters, Gift Planning Director of our Foundation, Attorney Jo Gould,  and Reverend Bill Beck.  Topics covered will include:

· Making an estate plan, including a will and revocable trust;

· Some options for creative planned giving;

· What an endowment is and why it is important to the life of the church.

Don’t miss it!  Call Endowment Chair, Barry Williams at 239-4066 if you have any questions.
