January through October 2nd we distributed 809 bags of groceries.

Thank you to everyone who shops with a S.H.A.R.E.S. card at Save Mart. We received a check for $940 this quarter! Please see me if you want a card. It’s easy and helps the Food Pantry to purchase food at Second Harvest and discount grocery stores.

 Davinci’s Deli continues to give us their leftover food now twice a week. Our seniors on fixed income especially enjoy this. Going out to lunch? Need take out? Think of Davinci’s next time and be sure to tell them you are from St. Paul’s UMC.

We are always in need of used children’s books.

Our Food Pantry committee members work many hours getting ready for Friday. They do this with grace and love and in the spirit of Jesus who taught us to give first to the poor among us.

Donations of canned food abounded this month from Manteca High School and their leadership class as well as East Union Girl’s softball teams, the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts! We are grateful to community leadership that encourages young people to look around and give to those less fortunate.
